Preschool Supports

Our preschool programs are inclusive classrooms for children ages 3 to 5. In addition to tuition based enrollment, we provide specialized services to students eligible for special education who show developmental delays in areas such as speech/language, learning (cognitive), movement (fine and gross motor), social-emotional, or daily living skills (adaptive).

Inclusion Preschool Classrooms (Lincoln & Willard):

  • These vibrant classrooms welcome up to 18 students, with six spots reserved for children with IEPs.
  • Each room is staffed by a certified classroom teacher and two dedicated paraprofessionals.
  • Students also receive weekly support from our speech-language pathologists, social workers, occupational therapists, and physical therapists within the classroom through push in services.
  • The District 90 Inclusion Preschool Program has a limited number of openings each year for children who are not in need of specific interventions and holds a lottery for these spots. The lottery application is typically available from late October to early November. Information about the lottery process can be found here each fall.

Walk-In Speech & Language Services:

  • Available for eligible 3-to-5-year olds who are eligible for speech and language services through an IEP that targeted speech and language support without enrolling in our preschool program. Service is provided at Lincoln or Willard Elementary School during the regular school day.

Understanding Early Childhood Inclusion

  • Early Choices: An Inclusion Initiative of the Illinois State Board of Education has developed a series of modules that explore key ideas about inclusion in early childhood. The series covers a range of topics from defining inclusion to understanding the benefits to advocating for inclusion.
