Lincoln Elementary School has been named a 2026 Governor's Blue Ribbon School, earning one of the state's highest recognitions for educational excellence.
Only 16 public schools out of the 4,300 public schools in Illinois received the honor this year. With the recognition, Lincoln is now a two-time honoree, having been previously recognized as a national Blue Ribbon School in 2015 by the U.S. Department of Education.
The Illinois Governor's Blue Ribbon Schools Program recognizes schools that demonstrate exceptional student outcomes through outstanding academic performance or success in closing achievement gaps. Lincoln School was recognized as an Exemplary High Performing School for demonstrating consistently strong academic outcomes over time.
Governor JB Pritzker and the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) announced recipients on October 20, 2026. All 2026 Governor's Blue Ribbon School recipients will be invited to a special recognition event at the Governor's Mansion in Springfield this spring.
