Kindergarten Recommendation Approved: D90 Transitions to Full-Day Kindergarten

At the February Board of Education meeting, Board members approved a formal resolution that affirmed the Kindergarten Program Review Committee’s (KPRC) recommendation to expand the current kindergarten model to a full-day program. The revised kindergarten model will begin at the start of the 2023-24 school year.

This decision by the Board of Education comes after an extensive review of relevant educational research, data sources, District 90 finances, school facilities, community survey feedback, and communication needs. The resolution will be shared with the Illinois State Board of Education to prepare for the August 2023 start of the District’s full-day kindergarten program.
