Please consider attending a Family Information Session on Tuesday, January 15 in the Roosevelt LLC starting at 6:30 p.m. The topic of discussion will be the proposed recommendation regarding revisions to the class schedules at Roosevelt. The District is planning to present its recommendation to the Board of Education at its January meeting.
The proposed adjustment to the instructional schedule will enable the school to maximize instructional time, provide longer uninterrupted instructional blocks, and increase the amount of time devoted to math instruction. Research studies have indicated a variety of benefits from longer instructional periods including greater student engagement and deeper understanding of course content, as well as improved performance on assessments of student achievement.
During the information session, school leaders and district administrators will share the rationale for modifying the school’s instructional schedule; explain the process that was used to investigate improved schedule options; and review the proposed modifications of the schedule for the coming year. There will also be considerable time allotted for questions and input from the audience. Please join us.
