Illinois State Board of Education Ranked Lincoln Elementary and Willard Elementary Schools as Exemplary, and ranked Roosvelt Middle School as Commendable
Schools ranked as Exemplary are schools performing in the top 10 percent statewide with no underpeforming student groups. Schools ranked as Commendable have no underperforming student groups, a graduation rate greater than 67 percent, and whose performance is not in the top 10 percent of schools statewide. 

U.S. Department of Education Blue Ribbon Schools Award, Lincoln Elementary School, 2015; and Roosevelt Middle School, 2012
The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program honors public and private elementary, middle, and high schools that are either high performing or are making notable improvements in closing the achievement gap.

Apple Distinguished Program Award, Roosevelt Middle School -- 2014 and 2017
Roosevelt Middle School received this honor from technology leader Apple, Inc. in recognition of the school and District 90’s commitment to embed technology across the entire curriculum. 

Bright A+ Award — 1999 through 2013
An annual award for academic excellence given by SchoolSearch, a research firm that analyzes data from the annual Illinois School Report Card. Award recipients are among the top 5% of all Illinois school districts. Only 60 of 866 districts in Illinois were recognized with the Bright A+ Award in 2013.

Bright Red Apple Award — 1994 through 2013
Also given by SchoolSearch, this award is based on excellence in five categories: academic performance, pupil/teacher ratio, expenditure per pupil, educational level of teachers and average teacher salary. Only 78 of 866 districts won the award in 2013.

Academic Excellence Award
All three District 90 schools received this recognition from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) in 2008 through 2012. The award is presented to schools that have sustained very high academic performance over time and meet the following criteria:

  • 90 percent of students must have met or exceeded state standards in both reading and mathematics for at least three consecutive years
  • Make Adequate Yearly Progress

Lincoln School received the award for the 10th year in a row for 2013, one of only nine schools in the state to receive this distinction. Only 23 schools received the award in 2013 due to changes in the State's achievement test cut scores.

Award for Excellence in Financial Reporting — 1992-1996, 1998-2022
The Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO) is awarded for meeting the program's high standards for financial reporting and accountability, and demonstrates the District's commitment to financial transparency. District 90 has received the Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting for the 30th year.
