Time schedule/Morning Procedure:
The daily schedule is 9:00 A.M.-3:15 P.M. (Early Dismissal: Thursdays at 3:00). Please do not drop your child off before 8:50 AM. There is no adult supervision before this time. Students should line up outside their designated door until the 8:55 bell. The classroom will open at 8:55. Students entering the classroom after 9:00 are marked tardy. During inclement weather, students line up in the 1st floor hallway.

Thursday Folders
Please remember to check your child’s backpack EVERY Thursday for important notices and information. In addition to the information sent home each Thursday, we will also send home graded work in the Thursday folder. Certain tests will need to be signed and returned. These will be stamped with a “Parent Signature” stamp. We will update you with happenings in the classroom via newsletter approximately every other week.

Complete and Incomplete Work
Students are responsible for using their class time wisely to complete assignments. If an assignment is not finished in the allotted time, the student is responsible for using any extra time he/she may have (ie. finishing another activity early) to complete this unfinished work. Unfinished work will often be sent home to complete as homework. If at any point work accumulates, students must attend Lunch Lab during recess time to complete these assignments. If homework is not completed, students will use recess time at Lunch Lab to complete these assignments as well. If students forget homework at school, they must return to school (accompanied by a parent or with prior parent-teacher contact) before 8:30 the day it is due to retrieve and complete it outside of school. After 8:30 will be lunch lab.

ISAT (Illinois Standards Achievement Test)
The ISAT (Illinois Standards Achievement Test) will be given March 3-6, 2008. Although makeup Tests will be given March 9-13, we strongly encourage all students to be in attendance to take the tests with the class. Third graders will be tested in reading, math and writing.

Snack
Students are encouraged to bring a healthy snack and a water bottle to school each day.

Parent Conferences
Parent conferences will be held November 24 & 25. Please watch the Willard Weekly and teacher newsletters for conference sign-up information. Spring conferences are scheduled for March 26 & 27.

Parent Volunteers
During special projects and activities, we will need help from parents. We will notify you in advance when volunteers are needed. We invite everyone to help out at some point during the year.

Work for absent students
If your child is absent and you would like his/her work for the day, please call the teacher in the morning and we will leave it in the office for you to pick up at the end of the day. If your child has a sibling at Willard, we can send the work home with the sibling.

We're looking forward to a wonderful year!

Sincerely,
The Third Grade Team
