CLASSROOM GUIDELINES &
BEHAVIOR POLICY

The third grade teachers want to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for all children in our classes this year, and we appreciate your support with these efforts.  A behavior card system has been set up in your child’s class.  Each child has made a behavior envelope that holds 3 cards: green, yellow and red.

	3.	Take care of and respect:
	•	School property
	•	Your own property
	•	Other people's property
	4.	Use inside voices and work quietly to not disturb others
	5.	Follow Willard school rules
	6.	Be a good and nice person
	7.	Always try your best and have fun! BEHAVIOR CARDS
The cards work as follows=
Green= Good Day!
Yellow= Warning
Red= Lose Recess

ALL STUDENTS START FRESH AT THE BEGINNING OF EVERY DAY and cards are returned to green every morning. The cards are used as a reminder to your child that he/she has already been given their fair warning and he/she needs to make good choices. “Red Card Alert” Letter Home
Students are expected to follow the Willard school and classroom rules. Should he/she choose not to follow the rules, there are consequences.  Students are given one free warning (the yellow card).  Following one warning, students will lose recess and a “Red Card Alert” letter will be sent home.  The student will fill out a “Red Card Alert” form explaining what he/she did to receive both the yellow card and the red card.  Both the student and teacher will sign the form at school.  The letter will then be sent home that afternoon in the child’s homework folder.  The form should be signed by a parent that evening acknowledging that you are aware of your child’s behavior and returned to school the following day.
Please remember these guidelines are set up to ensure the best learning environment for all children.
